Communication cables deliver 'messages' either in analog or digital electric current. In general, the cables are constructed from the basic insulated elements into the required final cable size. For jelly-filled cables, an approved electrical grade of petroleum jelly is used to fully fill the interstices of the cable.

The diverse application environments in the telecommunication and information technology sectors require a wide range of cable solutions.

The manufacturing process of telephone cables involves several processes. The materials used are carefully selected and controlled to ensure sustain reliable service in all products. Conductors are of annealed solid high conductivity copper which are drawn to the required sizes prior to insulation. The insulation material may be extruded solid or foam skin polyethylene. These insulated wires are twinned to form pairs. Generally, cables are then constructed from the basic insulated elements and assembled into the required final cable size. Customer may request for jelly-filled cables, moisture barrier sheath, metallic screen, inclusion of darin wires, rip cord depending on their application requirements. The final sheathing process is applied to provide protection from physical stress.
